Common issues

Tasks do not appear

Check that each task row has a valid start and end date. Also check that a field is placed in the Row Anchor well — any measure that always has a value works, such as a simple count. The visual uses it to know a row exists, so rows without it are not drawn.

Hierarchy looks wrong

Confirm that WBS levels and WBS code are consistent. If some rows skip a level (for example, a task has a Level 1 and a Level 3 value but no Level 2) or leave a level blank, tasks can group under the wrong parent and roll-ups can show unexpected totals.

Progress looks unexpected

Verify whether the source column uses decimals (0.49) or percentages (49). Do not mix both formats in the same field.

Timeline is too compressed

Reduce task-list column widths, change the default time view, or increase the visual width in the Power BI report canvas.

Visual is slow

Large project schedules can affect refresh performance. Start by testing filtered datasets, then increase row count while checking refresh time in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
